DB Group (Holdings) Ltd has been awarded the Supply Chain Excellence award at the 2020 Construction News Awards for Cemfree, ultra-low carbon concrete used on the M25 alongside Jackson Civils and Axtellthe use of their highly innovative product Cemfree.

The annual awards were held virtually for the first time on Thursday 26 November, and DB Group overcame stiff competition to win this prestigious award.

The award is shared with our partners Jackson Civils, Connect Plus and Axtell Ltd, where we successfully piloted Cemfree concrete on the M25, which slashed carbon emissions by 77 per cent.

The judges said it was impressive how the team managed to make an innovation a reality. The panel highlighted not only the collaboration but also the tenacity it required across the supply chain to make it happen. “Embodied carbon is the industry’s single biggest challenge, and this sustainable product is driving to solve those problems and innovate, with further opportunities to follow,” the panel said. “This is a really important initiative.”

Congratulations to all the winners and shortlisted entries at this year’s event. For more information about the Award, please visit the Construction News Website.
